NIDO PROGRAM

"Let us leave the life free to develop within the limits of the good, and let us observe this inner life developing. This is the whole of our mission.” (Dr. Montessori’s Own Handbook)

Your child was born to move and helping him/her to move freely right from the moment of birth is vital to the building of his intelligence.

Nido, the Italian word for nest, is appropriately used in describing the infant room’s safe, cozy atmosphere for beginning life. Each classroom has specific areas for awake time, eating, sleeping and personal care routines.

Right from the moment of birth, your baby is not only absorbing your words, but is also taking in your tone, intonation, and the structure of the way you speak. He/She creates their own way of speaking from the things that he/she hears.

Your child becomes independent through his own activity. When you offer choices at the right times and only lend a hand when he/she needs help, you are saying to them, “I know you can do this by yourself.”

Creating an environment that fosters self-discipline connects children to the world around them by involving them in choices and practical activities. Our program caters to these and all other facets of development through a beautifully prepared environment.

Our Nido room is also a parent community, in that parents are supported and offered parenting techniques and education. Breast feeding rooms are available for feeding or just for snuggling during those opportune times of the day.

Nido Room: 6 weeks to 16/18 months
